What's your opinion about this work? I posted about it last year and to be honest, I wasn't very impressed. I work in advertising, so maybe I'm biased, but branding is not just about logos... A brand is built with good products, advertising, heritage and the people who buy your brand. To name just a few components. When you remove the label it's still Prada. Because the buyer knows it's a Prada and because Prada is probable the reason why he bought it in the first place.
I thought it was interesting, even though like yourself i understand that branding isn't just about logos, but then again there is such a thing as brand weariness and brand pervasive influence in todays' pop culture.
Getting to unlabel their clothes was more of a metaphor for the message the person was trying to get across, rather than a literal act.
